Equality House

Equality House is a symbol of peace, compassion, and positive change for the LGBTQ+ community in Topeka. It cultivates a community garden and is open daily for drop-in visits.

Fiesta Mexicana

This annual event includes a parade downtown and five nights of traditional Mexican food, music, dancing and even a jalapeño eating contest every July benefitting the Holy Family School.

Indiafest

IndiaFest is an annual community event organized by the India Association of Topeka to support local charities.

Germanfest

Germanfest is a celebration of German food and beer in early June, organized by St. Joseph Catholic Parish.

Greek Food Festival

The annual Greek Food Festival serves traditional Greek food in mid-October, benefitting St. Peter & Paul Orthodox Christian Church.

Jewish Food & Cultural Fair

The annual Blintze Brunch and Jewish Food and Cultural Fair held by Temple Beth Sholom features food and history of Jewish people.

Topeka Family and Friends Juneteenth Celebration has an annual event that brings the community together to celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation. 

Intertribal Pow Wow

The Intertribal Powwow is held annually at Lake Shawnee on Labor Day weekend.

Chinese New Year

The Chinese American Association hosts a Chinese New Year celebration every year in mid-January.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in mid-March kicks off the hugely popular IrishFest celebration in downtown Topeka.

Miracle on Kansas Avenue

The Miracle on Kansas Avenue Parade is a Topeka holiday tradition held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Rescue Run 5k race runs the parade route beforehand and benefits the Topeka Rescue Mission.

Veteran's Day Parade

The Veteran’s Day Parade honors regional veterans in downtown Topeka in early November.
