Topeka loves artists.

Topeka boasts a thriving arts scene that prides itself on support for local artists. The First Friday Artwalk is a monthly celebration of art, music, food and more that attracts more than 3,000 participants every month.

The city’s appreciation for art is displayed everywhere. The NOTO Arts and Entertainment District features many venues of art and creative expression, alongside food and live entertainment. The city is home to dozens of murals and an entire park devoted to art

Evergy Plaza

Evergy Plaza is an outdoor concert venue in downtown Topeka hosting 400 events a year. It’s a community gathering space with a fountain, splash park, and ice-skating rink.

Evergy Plaza also hosts multiple summer concert series with food trucks, games and other entertainment. The concerts range from rock, hip-hop, country, jazz, blues and all other types of music. 

NOTO Arts & Entertainment District

The NOTO Arts & Entertainment District is the vibrant heartbeat of North Topeka featuring fine art experiences, unique shops, breweries, group activities, and artisan food. Located in the historic North Topeka business district, NOTO is dedicated to stimulating the cultural and economic life of Topeka and the Midwest. Jayhawk Theatre

The Jayhawk Theatre is a community treasure that’s being lovingly and painstakingly renovated to its original glory. Originally opened as one of the first multi-level air conditioned movie houses in the country, the venue hosted notable acts like Bob Hope and Gypsy Rose Lee. The theatre succumbed to changing times and closed in 1976. In 1993, a group of Topekans formed a non-profit organization dedicated to the Jayhawk’s renovation. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theatre is living the new dream of live entertainment while retaining the beauty of the past.

Stormont-Vail Events Center

The Stormont-Vail Events Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena that hosts hundreds of concerts, live events and performances, exhibitions, sporting events, expos, and more. The venue recently underwent a multi-million dollar modernization and renovation.

Topeka Jazz Workshop

Topeka Jazz Workshop hosts a full lineup of nationally-touring jazz musicians and performances.

Topeka Symphony Orchestra

Topeka Symphony Orchestra has monthly performances featuring fine music selections from all backgrounds and styles. 

Topeka Civic Theater

The nation’s oldest running dinner theater, Topeka Civic Theater is community theater at its finest.

Topeka Performing Arts Center

With a total seating capacity of 2,417, the main auditorium of the Topeka Performing Arts Center brings in a variety of live-entertainment performances.
